Microsoft has just announced that Windows 10 22H2 is available now for all eligible devices! Here’s what you need to know about this new version!
Almost a month after the launch of Windows 11 22H2, Microsoft has just released a new major version of Windows 10: version 22H2, aka Windows 10 2022 Update is available! For Windows 10 users, an update search from Windows Update should make it possible to recover this new version. John Cable from Microsoft confirmed this: “If the update appears, you can simply select Download and Install to begin“. Beyond Windows Update, this new version is available through the usual channels, including WSUS.
A little clarification though: This update is only offered for machines running Windows 10 version 20H2 and above. Moreover, you will see that this update is particularly quick to install, in the same spirit as a monthly update such as Microsoft releases every month with its famous Patch Tuesday.
In itself, Windows 10 22H2 is not a major version in the sense that it does not include any real new features. However, what is interesting is the support that Microsoft will ensure on this version. For Windows 10 22H2 Home and Pro, Microsoft will offer updates for 18 monthswhile for the Enterprise and Education editions it is support for 30 months. What to take the time to switch to Windows 11.
On its site, Microsoft will also centralize any problems related to this new version and put in place, if necessary, temporary blockages if certain configurations pose problems.
When launching the installation of Windows 10 22H2, be careful where you click: if your machine is eligible for Windows 11, the system may also offer you to switch directly to Windows 11. So read properly before clicking if you’re not ready to upgrade to Windows 11! 😉
