September 2022 Update for Windows 11

Microsoft has released update KB5017328 for Windows 11! This cumulative update fixes several bugs: let’s take a look at the changes made.

What are the bugs fixed by Microsoft?

Beyond fixing security vulnerabilities, this update fixes 25 bugs. Microsoft highlights the following changes:

  • USB printers could malfunction when rebooting the device or reinstalling on Windows
  • Microsoft fixed an issue on Windows 11 SE that displayed errors when installing apps from the Microsoft Store
  • Microsoft fixed an issue where Bluetooth headsets would stop playing the audio stream after adjusting the volume.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue with Microsoft Edge and IE mode that prevented users from interacting with dialogs.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Windows from displaying Microsoft Account (MSA) sign-in forms after installing update KB5016691.

No major changes within this update, other than security fixes and bug fixes that should keep affected users happy.

This update is available through the usual channels, starting with Windows Update (Settings > Windows Update) as you can see in the image below, but also via WSUS, the Microsoft Update catalog as well as Windows Autopatch for those who use Microsoft’s new service. After installing the update, Windows 11 goes to version Build 22000.978.
